To mentor under-resourced adolescent youth toward economically healthy adulthood.
Many kids in today’s urban context face severe social and/or economic challenges. Because of this, Baltimore Life Coaches has chosen to implement a one-on-one mentoring approach as the key strategy for accomplishing our mission.. Simply put, we assign one financially-stable caring adult volunteer, or “Life Coach,” to each and every kid who needs and wants a mentor.
Our “Coaches” (mentors) and “Players” (mentees) meet together at one of our breakfast gatherings for food, fun, fellowship, and financial literacy. We currently have three different “leagues” that meet for 12 weeks during the fall semester and 12 weeks during the spring semester.
Male mentors who have been matched with young men who live on the west side of Baltimore attend our THURSDAY MORNING gathering which meets in Coppin State’s dining hall from 7 to 8 am.
Male mentors who have been matched with young men who live on the east side of Baltimore attend our FRIDAY MORNING gathering which meets in Morgan State’s dining hall from 7 to 8 am.
Female mentors and their mentees meet once a month for brunch at Miss Shirley’s Restaurant (Cold Spring Lane).
We encourage mentors and mentees to make every effort to attend our group excursions throughout the school year and summer. These activities may include an Orioles game (movie night, laser tag, go carts, super bowl party, charter fishing boat, or cook outs!
Our female version of one-on-one mentoring matches caring women with adolescent girls to help them become healthy adults. To find out more, contact ARNY ARNOLD at arnyarnold@gmail.com.

Baltimore Life Coaches is a mission specifically focused on the well being of Baltimore City. As such, we welcome support from any individual, corporation, foundation, church, or other entity that wants to help our youth flourish into healthy adults.
Baltimore Life Coaches is a project of a Maryland nonprofit corporation operating through a fiscal sponsorship with Players Philanthropy Fund, a Maryland charitable trust recognized by IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Federal Tax ID: 27-6601178). Contributions to Baltimore Life Coaches are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Simply put, a Life Coach is a caring adult who commits to befriend, encourage, and open doors for one under-resourced kid who wants and needs a mentor. After we match you with a mentee, the commitment is to meet with that kid at one of our weekly Life Coach gatherings (see program description) for at least one 12-week season. However, be prepared for a friendship that might last a lifetime!
